About IHIB
The Istanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association (İHİB) is one of the most significant institutions of the Turkish carpet industry and, being located in Istanbul—where a large portion of carpet trade takes place—it is regarded as a symbolic organization of the Turkish carpet sector.
Established in 1989, the Istanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association (İHİB) operates as one of the four exporters’ associations under the General Secretariat of Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters’ Associations (İTKİB).
İHİB represents a substantial part of the Turkish carpet export industry, as approximately 20% of Turkey’s total carpet exports and almost the entirety of its handmade carpet exports are carried out by İHİB member companies.
The Istanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association (İHİB), which has around 500 carpet exporting companies—mostly based in Istanbul and its surrounding regions—aims to enhance Turkey’s export potential in the carpet industry, improve export performance, and assist its members in all their export-related activities.
Beyond these objectives, İHİB also strives to represent Turkish carpet exporting companies both nationally and internationally, and before public institutions, with the mission of protecting and promoting the interests of the sector at the highest level.
To achieve these goals, the Istanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association (İHİB) carries out numerous activities.
